Dhū-l-Jalāli wa-l-ʾikrām, Lord of Majesty and Generosity

God is the possessor and indeed the source of majesty and bounty. Ibn Al-Qayyim mentions that "Jalāl" is glorification, and "ikrām" refers to love. As such it is only God that can bestow these things truly. Through these Names, God reminds us to look at the source, such that when we receive anything good, we are reminded to thank and praise the Source of that majesty and bounty.
